"FM Action Agenda" explains how this Australian Government initiative includes the promotion of benefits of innovation and encouraging greater industry collaboration and investment in R&D, in addition to developing a framework for regulatory standardisation, FM performance measures and sustainability, all underpinned by focused education and training.

Information will be provided on the latest Construction Innovation "case study research" that will examine FM practices in digital interface of FM documentation, services, procurement and benchmarking.

"Road Maintenance" covers procedures and methodologies for effective decision-making for road asset investment.

Afternoon session:

"Where to?" discusses recommendations on how technologies and systems can be incorporated into the design of a complex building to ensure that people with sensory impairment know their desired location and how to get there from their present location.

Learn how the use of "LCADesign (Life Cycle Analysis of Design)" will enable building design professionals to make informed decisions on the environmental impact of commercial buildings by providing detailed environmental measures for different materials, products and designs, automatically from their 3D CAD drawings. Corrosion of building products causes significant costs to building owners, facility managers and maintainers.

The CRC for Construction Innovation "Corrosion prediction" project is developing a situation based model for predicting corrosion in certain building elements, starting with roofs and gutters. A recent visit to the Sunshine Coast reveals just what is happening to metals exposed to salt air and the importance of correct metal selection and specification.
