The Microclimatic Impacts on the Built Environment - Extension of the Day Lighting Theory to Produce Algorithms for Light Technical Parameters for any Location

Start/anticipated completion date:

 

July 2006/June 2008
Adrian continues with his Masters and hopes to complete in 2008. He is currently working at the QUT Photometric Laboratory where they calibrate light and UV meters and test light distribution, transmission, reflection and colour of lamps and materials such as: brake lights, indicators, headlights, street lights, traffic signal lights, floodlights, emergency exit signs, shadecloth etc.

Research contribution to industry practice:

 

To help people enjoy their daylight hours as much as possible through comfortable light levels and reduced glare specific to location. To produce cleaner air from reduced pollution due to less energy use by lights, and heaters/air conditioners.
